Walk for Hope

Alexandra House hosted the 11th Annual Walk for Hope on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Bunker Hills Regional Park in Anoka. The Walk for Hope event drew a crowd of more than 550 and helped to raise more than $54,000 supporting Alexandra House’s comprehensive services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.  This turn out and generosity, much in line with last year’s event, demonstrates Alexandra House’s supporters’ commitment to ensuring every family is able to live free from violence.

The Walk’s activities included a community resource fair, health screenings provided by Allina Health, healthy refreshments for all participants, a rousing Zumba warm-up, remarks by public officials, and brief keynote address.

The keynote speaker, a student leader from Alexandra House’s Youth Advisory Council, provided an earnest and energized perspective about the importance of this work and the imperative for young activists to get involved. After her presentation, walkers, runners, and public officials alike applauded her passion and accomplishments.
