Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week!
This week, April 16-22, is a week to spotlight and thank all our amazing volunteers at Alexandra House! We are so grateful for the incredible support of our dedicated volunteers at Alexandra House and for all those who generously give their time and talents to make a difference in our community. Your selflessness and commitment to helping others is truly inspiring!
We realize that volunteering with Alexandra House isn’t the easiest thing to do. Many positions require significant training, background checks, and time commitments. But they are vitally important. We truly couldn’t do what we do without volunteers. Volunteers help us stretch our limited resources further, allowing us to serve more survivors and make a more significant impact in our community.
In the past year, more than 250 volunteers contributed nearly 6,920 hours of their time and expertise. Whether they answered the helpline, responded to a hospital call, assisted victims in securing shelter, offered support to the children and youth in the shelter, served on the board of directors, or planned an event, our volunteers always go the extra mile.
Many volunteers within Alexandra House work tirelessly, seemingly behind the scenes. But please know your contributions are seen, and your gift of time is profoundly appreciated as the precious commodity that it is. We know every volunteer has a busy life, and it is remarkable that you have chosen Alexandra House to give your time to. National Volunteer Week is the perfect time to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of these volunteers and show our appreciation for their unwavering commitment to ending domestic and sexual violence.
Thank you for helping us impact the lives of all those we serve.
