We are thrilled to invite you to the groundbreaking ceremony for Linus’ Pet Haven, a new addition to Alexandra House’s Emergency Shelter program. This project is not just about expanding our facilities; it’s about providing a lifeline to survivors who face an agonizing choice—leaving their beloved pets behind or staying in an abusive situation. Shockingly, 71% of women in domestic violence shelters report their abuser threatened, injured, or killed a pet, and nearly half of the victims choose to endure the abuse rather than abandon their pets.

With Linus’ Pet Haven, we aim to break this cycle by offering a safe haven for both survivors and their pets, ensuring they can escape together and begin the healing process without fear of separation. Your support at this groundbreaking event will help us take a vital step toward creating a more compassionate and comprehensive safety net for those in need.
