We are excited to invite you to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Linus’ Pet Haven, an important new addition to Alexandra House’s Emergency Shelter program. This event marks a significant milestone in our mission to provide a safe and compassionate space for survivors of domestic violence and their beloved pets.

Too often, survivors face the heartbreaking decision of staying in an abusive situation or leaving their pets behind. Tragically, 71% of women in domestic violence shelters report that their abuser has threatened, harmed, or even killed a pet. Almost half of these victims feel forced to endure the abuse because they cannot bear to abandon their animals.

To celebrate this milestone, we are offering limited tours of our renovated pet-friendly units and the newly designated outdoor pet space. This is a unique opportunity to allow guests into our shelter space and witness firsthand the changes we’ve made to support families in need.

We invite you to join us on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 1pm, for this special ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour. Your participation will help us take a crucial step forward in providing a comprehensive safety net for those fleeing violence and looking to rebuild their lives with their pets by their side.
