Wear Orange Day

Wearing orange is a way to raise awareness about teen dating violence and promote healthy relationships. It takes place during Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM), which is in February.

Why wear orange?

  • To send a message that abuse is not tolerated
  • To promote unity in ending dating abuse
  • To show that people who have experienced teen dating violence are not alone

How to wear orange?

  • Wear orange clothing, nail polish, hats, scarves, face paint, ribbons, hair ties/bows, jewelry, shoes, or rubber bands in your braces
  • Take a picture wearing orange and post it on social media
  • Tag your pictures with #TDVAM, #Orange4Love, and #RespectWeek

Other ways to raise awareness

  • Share what respect means to you
  • Create a story, poem, picture, or video about healthy relationships
  • Make a post on social media reminding people that they are worthy of respect and kindness
  • Pass a TDVAPM resolution in your community
  • Teach local leaders about the prevalence of domestic violence
